1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Steer (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Steer provides AI-powered advisory services for property professionals. Our advisory board offers guidance on technology, commercial, financial, surveying, legal, business development, and people matters.

3. Important Disclaimer

⚠️ Steer provides general guidance only. It does not constitute:

  • Professional surveying advice regulated by RICS
  • Legal advice from a qualified solicitor
  • Financial advice from an FCA-regulated advisor
  • Tax advice from a qualified accountant

Always consult qualified professionals for specific matters affecting your legal rights, financial position, or professional obligations.

4. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Not share your account with others

5. Subscription and Payment

Free Tier

  • Access to CTO board member only
  • 10 queries per month
  • No credit card required

Paid Subscriptions

  • Billed monthly or annually in advance
  • Automatic renewal unless cancelled
  • Pro-rata refunds available within 14 days
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for illegal purposes
  • Share or resell access to the Service
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the AI systems
  • Upload malicious content or documents
  • Use automated systems to access the Service
  • Misrepresent AI advice as professional advice to third parties

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including AI prompts, interface, and branding, is owned by Steer. You retain ownership of content you create and upload. By using the Service, you grant us a license to process your content to provide the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Steer shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits or business opportunities
  • Decisions made based on AI guidance
  • Inaccuracies in AI responses
  • Service interruptions or data loss

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Steer against claims arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

11. RICS Compliance

If you are a RICS-regulated professional, you remain responsible for compliance with RICS Rules of Conduct, including the new AI Professional Standard. Disclosure of AI use to clients is your responsibility.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. Upon termination:

  • Access to the Service ceases immediately
  • You may export your data within 30 days
  • Outstanding fees remain payable

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect.
